A Word to New and Renewing Members
Thank you for becoming a member of the U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Association.
Your membership offers many opportunities to be directly involved in the work of the Association.
We invite you to attend our membership meetings, which are held on the first Wednesday of the month, February through November. Our annual election meeting takes place in mid December.
We welcome your assistance with Association functions such as Fair Week, Christmas in the Village and our Annual Labor Day Weekend Show. Because we value your input, we ask you to consider sitting on one of our committees, or holding a board position.
Ladies are invited to participate in the Sisters of Steam, our women’s group, which meets on the third Thursday of the month.
If you participate in any traditional and/or historic handicraft, we would be happy to give you the opportunity to present and sell your craft in Antique Village.
Here is some basic information you should know before signing up as a vendor:
Shop Managers
We encourage you to present a clean environment.
We ask that you be open for every event during the hours of that event. If you cannot be there, we ask that you arrange for someone to take your place.
In keeping with our wish to educate our visitors, we encourage demonstrations of your craft whenever possible.
It is the policy of the Association that a percentage from each shop is paid in a timely manner to the Association treasurer. All revenue from these agreed upon percentages go for Association expenses
The Association covers the liability insurance within the Village, but as individual shop managers, we encourage you to carry insurance on your own inventory. You are also responsible for all permits and tax requirements.
Visiting Vendors
Please present your art or craft to the selection committee (the Visiting Vendor Review Committee) for approval. In keeping with our mission to preserve our past heritage, we ask that non-traditional items not be presented.
Booth space will be 10 X 10 and the cost will vary by the event.
We ask that your booth space be clean and inviting, and if possible, we ask that you demonstrate your art to help educate others.
You will be responsible for signs, insurance taxes and permits if necessary for your product.
The vendor agrees to defend and hold harmless the Association for any damage or loss.
