As part of its ongoing resolve to educate current and future generations about American history, the U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Association, with the support of the U.P. State Fair Authority, has developed Antique Village.
Evoking the feel of a by-gone era, Antique Village offers visitors an interactive learning experience.
Local artisans demonstrate traditional handicrafts such as knitting, pottery, quilting, rag rug making, sewing, spinning, and weaving. A wide variety of unique handcrafted items are available to purchase.
The Village also features a blacksmith shop, barber shop, general store, and granary.
Refreshments are available at the Cook Shack and Scoop and Float Ice Cream Shop.
Exhibits include a working saw mill, railroad station, chapel, schoolhouse, and an 80-ton Fairbanks diesel engine.
In all there are almost two full acres of shops and displays.
